If there’s one thing to be experienced on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, it’s the food. Guided by a local, you’ll experience six iconic and authentic dishes (and their excellent food stalls), some hailing directly from Vietnam’s southern region for a true sense of Saigon. From bun bo hue to banh xeo to kem dua, you’ll taste Anthony Bourdain’s favorite cuisine—direct from locals’ favorite hangouts.

1. Savor a Saigon specialty, “Bò Lá Lốt” – a southern dish of grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves. This spot was handpicked by Michelin

3. Wander through tiny alleyways to a local vendor serving crispy giant “Bánh Xèo” and bite-sized “Bánh Khọt”. Southern-style rice pancakes, paired with an abundance of fresh Vietnamese herbs.

4. Soak in the vibrant local scene with a drink in hand as we stroll to our next dish, “Vietnamese Pizza”—a delicious street food favorite from Central Area

5. Recharge with fresh sugarcane juice at the bustling second-hand and seafood markets, a true taste of local life.

6. Seafood feast & food challenge! We’ll dive into the best seafood in town—grilled scallops, clams, snails with pepper, and the adventurous balut

7. Step back in time in the old quarter, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. Get lost in its charm and savor a steaming bowl of “Bún Bò Hue” from a legendary 60-year-old food stall

8. End the night at District 10’s vibrant street markets, where we’ll indulge in the best local desserts and explore the lively flower market.

You will taste cuisine from North, Central, and South Vietnam. Get picked up at the meeting point, Huyen Sy Church, and then we leave the tourist area behind and walk to the local areas D3 and D10.

1. We fill our stomachs with specialty food in town ” Bo La Lot”, the southern dish origin. Michelin and Anthony Bourdain selected this restaurant and used to eat there.

2. Walking down the tiny alleyways to a local vendor selling tasting ‘Bánh Xèo” and “Bánh Khọt” – The Central and South Rice Pancake with a lot of fresh Vietnamese vegetables and herbs.

3. Explore the local area, where you can grab a beer to drink while walking like a gangster in town to the fourth dish called “Vietnamese Pizza” from Central Highland Area.

4. Catch your breath by trying the fresh sugar cane juice at the second-hand and seafood markets.

5. Tasting the northern dish “Xoi Man,” hot sticky rice, pate, sausages, pork floss, & herbs, and a small bite to tasty the Vietnamese sandwiches, called ” Banh Mi”

6. Next stop, seafood vendors, we feed you the best seafood in town and food challenge: Scallops, Clams, Snails grilled with pepper, and Baluts.

7. Last stop, we cross the street to explore D10 and stop at the most famous street food market and biggest flower market to try the best dessert.


We will pick you up at following locations:

  • Picking up and dropping off at the central districts 1, 3, and 4.
  • Other districts will meet at the meeting place, Saigon Opera House.
