Experience A Delicious Tofu Dessert Store in Saigon
While walking along Hoa Su Street in Phu Nhuan District, I stumbled upon a small dessert shop called Tàu Hủ Cóc. What impressed me right away is that the shop has been around since 2012, and even now the prices have only slightly increased, keeping everything affordable and reasonable. Curious, I decided to stop by and try it for myself.

A Wide and Diverse Dessert Menu
One of the highlights of Tàu Hủ Cóc is its diverse menu, featuring tempting options such as tofu pudding with flan, tofu pudding with coconut jelly, chè sương sa hột lựu (chestnut jelly dessert), and chè ngũ sắc (five-color sweet soup).

Each dish is reasonably priced between 25,000 VND and 35,000 VND, making it affordable for everyone. To make the experience even more enjoyable, you can customize your dessert by adding extra toppings like bột lọc (tapioca pearls), bánh lọt (pandan jelly noodles), or dried young coconut for just 5,000 VND each, creating a refreshing and personalized treat.

My Tasting Experience
I decided to try two items: tofu pudding with flan and chè ngũ sắc, both of which turned out to be delightful choices.
The tofu pudding with flan offered a wonderful balance of textures, combining silky smooth tofu pudding with chewy pandan noodles, basil seeds, grass jelly, coconut strips, and a rich, creamy flan. The coconut milk and sugar syrup were perfectly balanced, sweet but not overwhelming, making it enjoyable for any palate.
Chè ngũ sắc was equally refreshing, with colorful layers of jelly, mung beans, and young coconut strips that gave it a light creaminess and mild sweetness, ideal for someone like me who doesn’t enjoy overly sugary desserts. Among them, the flan was the star, thick, smooth, and fragrant, blending seamlessly with the tofu pudding to create a dessert that was both indulgent and refreshing.

Why should you try a tofu dessert in Saigon?
