TNR Saigon – Unique spot in nightlife place
If you’re looking for a laid-back yet lively place to grab a drink and vibe with friends in Ho Chi Minh City, TNR Saigon is definitely worth checking out. Established in 2008, this iconic pub in District 1 has become a go-to spot for expats, backpackers, and locals who love hip-hop beats, graffiti-covered walls, affordable drinks, and a cool, welcoming atmosphere.

First Impressions: A Chill Yet Energetic Atmosphere
What impressed me right away was how spacious the place felt — something you don’t always find in Saigon’s pub scene. The moment I walked in, I was drawn to the vibrant atmosphere, with graffiti-covered walls, energetic hip-hop beats, and a mix of locals and international travelers chatting, laughing, and enjoying their night.
I chose to sit at the bar counter, which turned out to be the perfect spot to relax, sip my drink, and enjoy the music. The sound and lighting system was vibrant and well-tuned, adding to the overall experience without being too overwhelming.

Games, Music & Special Events
What makes TNR Saigon stand out is that it’s more than just a bar. There are fun games like billiards and darts, which are perfect if you’re with a group of friends. The casual vibe makes it easy to meet new people, especially fellow expats or backpackers exploring Vietnam.
On certain nights, TNR also hosts live music and DJ events. I didn’t catch a live set during my visit, but I could tell from the setup and posters that this place knows how to throw a good party when the occasion calls for it.

My Experience at TNR Saigon
One of the best parts of my night was discovering how creative their drink menu is. The bar serves a wide range of cocktails, beers, and shots at reasonable prices.
I ordered a cocktail called “A Walk in the Park”, and it truly lived up to its name. From the very first sip, I tasted a refreshing citrus zing from the lemon, followed by the sweetness of crème de cassis. The gin was subtle but added just the right complexity. What made it really special was the ginger ale fizz and fresh mint, which left a clean, cool finish. The seasonal berries and zest added a fresh aroma and colorful touch. It was light, balanced, and perfect for slow sipping, like taking a peaceful walk in the park.
Next, I tried a shot called Red-headed Slut, and yes, the name caught my attention! It started sweet with peach schnapps, quickly followed by the herbal kick of Jägermeister, and ended with a tart splash of cranberry juice. It was easy to drink, flavorful, and had just the right punch to keep the night going.

TNR’s Music: Hip-Hop and Western Vibes
If you’re into hip-hop and Western music, you’ll love the playlist at TNR. Every track felt thoughtfully selected, and the transitions between songs were smooth. It wasn’t just background noise — the music really set the tone for the night. It’s the kind of place where you can vibe with friends or even dance a little if the mood strikes.
