Ghost Ship in Vietnam: Abandoned for 3 Years in Ninh Thuan

Right now, I’m in Phan Rang, a quiet coastal city about 400 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. It’s actually my girlfriend’s hometown, and she’s guiding me around during this trip. We’re planning to stay here for about a week, and I’m excited to show you the best of this peaceful little city. What’s special about Phan Rang is that it’s still very local — not many tourists come here, which makes it feel even more authentic

In the afternoon, after we arrived, we took a short ride to see an abandoned ship that has been lying near the coast for over three years. It’s about a 15-minute ride from the city center. We crossed An Dong Bridge and continued straight for around 10 minutes. The ship doesn’t have a specific address, but you can easily spot it from the road — it stands out, quiet and mysterious against the landscape.

After that, we walked around the nearby sand dunes. They’re wild, untouched, and beautifully silent. The sea here is clean and clear, the kind of place where couples can relax together without the noise of popular tourist destinations. Just you, the wind, the sound of the waves, and a sense of calm that’s hard to describe.

This trip reminded me of what I love most about traveling — not just ticking off famous places, but really getting to know a location through its people and its quiet corners. The locals here are warm, easy-going, and honest. It’s easy to strike up a conversation, even if you don’t speak much Vietnamese. People smile, they wave, and they make you feel like you’re part of their neighborhood, even if only for a few days. That kind of welcome stays with you long after the trip ends.

When I make these videos, I don’t just want to show beautiful views. I want to share real stories and moments — the kinds of experiences that make travel meaningful. Vietnam is full of places like this. Maybe they don’t show up on guidebooks or travel blogs, but when you get there, you feel something real. A connection. A sense of discovery. And that’s what I hope to share with you.
